Derek, originally from the South Shore of Massachusetts but raised in Richmond Hill, Georgia, discovered his passion for cooking at the age of 16 while working in restaurants. With over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Derek has honed his skills as a cook and chef. He has held prestigious positions such as Executive Chef at The Pirate’s House in Savannah, Georgia, Executive Sous Chef at the Ford Field and River Club in Richmond Hill, Georgia, and Executive Sous Chef at The Colleton River Club in Bluffton, South Carolina. An active member of the American Culinary Federation, Derek resides in Bluffton with his wife, Kristen, and their two rescue dogs. They enjoy the company of their 20-year-old son, Chandler, who lives in Charleston, South Carolina.
